Snake-cotton is an annual herb with a taproot and erect stems. The leaves are opposite. The white flowers are perfect (contain both male and female parts) and the plant produces brown seeds. Snake cotton is found growing on sand dunes, sandy prairies and pastures, and stream valleys.
